I started sailing in 1978 in a 14’ plywood boat. That led to one boat then another ,and another till I found Capricious Desires. She is a Columbia 10.7 that’s 35’ for you who don’t speak metric. The year I started sailing I discovered the San Juans. And prombly fell in love with Friday Harbor. I started spending all my vacations here. Exploring the nooks and crannies of every island. After ten years of visiting I couldn’t take it any more and sail Capricious here to stay. Having an abundance of sea time and a love of being on the water got my USCG 100 Ton Masters License in 1992 and started Cap’n Howard’s Sailing Charters.
About the trip
We can take you sailing for a few hour or a few years.
About half my charters are four hours, some all day and a few a week long. On overnight trip a group four is most comfortable. We are now offering sailing charters in the Caribbean. Call or email for details.
About the cost
The boat and captain are $70 per hour, that’s for up to six people.
With a $200 minimum.
Payment can be made by check, Visa, MasterCard and cash with proper I.D
